Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a very late move for Celta Vigo midfielder and former Arsenal transfer target Stanislav Lobotka, according to reports.

Spurs are the only team in the Premier League yet to make a signing this summer, though Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be keen to sign a midfielder with talks over a deal for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish having stalled.

And according to the Mirror, Tottenham have now set their sights on Lobotka, who is valued at £31million by Celta.

The Slovakia international has already been linked with a move to north London this summer, with Arsenal chasing him when Unai Emery first arrived at the club.

However, the Gunners eventually opted to sign fellow midfielder Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria instead, with the Uruguayan impressing at the World Cup in Russia.

Now Spurs are eyeing up a last-ditch move for Lobotka after being alerted to a £31m release clause in the five-year contract he signed just a few months ago.

That represents a cheaper fee than the £40m Villa are demanding for Grealish, though Spurs would need to sell a foreign player before adding any more non-homegrown players to the squad.

Mousa Dembele is one player who could potentially depart, with the Belgian having held talks with a number of clubs in Italy over a summer switch.

Spurs are also braced to lose Toby Alderweireld to Manchester United, though the Red Devils are expected to block any move from Spurs to try and sign Anthony Martial as part of the deal.
